Rainbow Studios is searching for a qualified Senior Environment Artist for
our MX Franchise title.
Senior Environment Artist Position Summary:
Leads by example and ability in mentoring other artists in the same discipline.
Creates cohesive, technically difficult environmental content such as architectural
buildings, signage, terrain, skies, and ecosystems and integrates them into the game
engine.
Essential Job Functions:
• Creates 3D high resolution environment and texture/normal maps
• Reviews and recommends software for production
• Participates in design discussions and the R&D process
• Integrates assets into game
• Creates pipelines for the development process
• Participates in visual comparisons and critiques
• Analyzes environmental content and provides direction for final polish
• Works within hardware limitations for project
• Meets deadlines with proficiency
• Mentors a small group of artists in same discipline
• Uses commercially available digital art software competently
• Remains stationary for long periods of time while working in front of a computer
• Manipulates a keyboard, mouse, and/or other input device
• Interacts and communicates effectively with management on both a project and studio level
• Participates in studio-sanctioned training courses
• Performs other similar or related duties as necessary
Experience/Skills:
• 5-8 years of industry experience
• Working knowledge of MAX and/or other 3D software package, Photoshop, Z-Brush,
Alienbrain
• Understanding of material shaders and proprietary tools
• Thorough understanding of architecture and nature
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact effectively
• Ability to multi-task and to adapt easily to change
• Bachelor’s (BA) degree from an accredited 4-year college or university or
equivalent industry experience
