Description:
Eurocom is one of the world’s leading independent games developers and has been around since the early days of console games. Now in our 19th year, we are a successful, growing business with a strong and stable foundation for future development. We have over 270 staff based in our Derby studio, working on multiple projects across Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo platforms, and PC. Eurocom has developed over seventy titles to date, most recently Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End (soon to be released), Ice Age 2: The Meltdown, Batman Begins, Predator: Concrete Jungle, Robots, Spyro: A Hero’s Tail and Athens 2004, and there are many more in the pipeline.
We are looking for environment artists to model, texture and light 3D environments and to model and texture additional props for environments. The ideal candidates will possess 3D modelling skills, including detailed buildings, vehicles, props, weapons, etc. and knowledge of lighting techniques such as setting up lighting rigs, rendering attributes for in-game scenes, static images, cinematics and presentation materials. Applicants must have an intermediate to advanced level of knowledge using Maya/Max and Photoshop. Knowledge of ZBrush and procedural geometry generation packages such as XFrog is desirable, as is knowledge of shader creation and techniques. Applicants should be able to demonstrate a strong artistic background, though not necessarily academic.
Please note that increasingly on the next generation projects, artists are specialising in particular areas of the process. This means that you may be very talented in ‘just’ one of the areas mentioned above. If this is the case, please don’t be put off applying – we would like to hear from you.
